June 13, AZBC, Mesa... The 23rd Annual GCSG BADMINTON Event was held again at the Arizona Badminton Center on Saturday, June 13, 2015. 25 participants competed in 5 events, including Women and Men Singles, Women and Men Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Shuhong Liu won the GCSG POWER PLAY AWARD for outstanding sportsmanship. There were two double-Gold Medalists, Tejas Ashani for Men Singles and Doubles (he also won a Bronze in Mixed Doubles), and Doug Towne for Men Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

Stephen Li won the Silver in Men Singles and Men Doubles. Maya Shrikant won the Gold in Women Singles, Silver in Women Doubles, and Bronze in Mixed Doubles. Kirielle Singarajah won the Gold in Women Doubles and Silver in Women Singles. Anhthy Nguyen won the Gold in Mixed Doubles and Bronze in Women Doubles. Along with the POWER PLAY AWARD, Shuhong Liu won Silver Medals in Women Doubles and Mixed Doubles and a Bronze in Women Singles. Her husband, Haiwei Lu also won a Bronze in Men Singles and Silver in Mixed Doubles. Other medalists included Rena Han with a Gold in Women Doubles, Kathy Furtmann with a Bronze in Women Doubles, Christopher Mann with a Silver in Men Doubles, and Dean Glazeski and Clement Singarajah with Bronze Medals in Men Doubles
