2021 AZBC HOLIDAY SMASH BASH TOURNAMENT

The Team from Tucson came and conquered at this year's HOLIDAY SMASH BASH!

Sat, Dec 18, 2021, Mesa... This year we combined the annual SMASH BASH that usually occurs in September, but was canceled, and the annual HOLIDAY FUN BOWL to host the HOLIDAY SMASH BASH. More than 60 entrants battled, from ages under 10 to over 60 in 10 doubles events including KIDS, HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGIATE, OPEN and SENIOR levels!

The group from Tucson made their presence known by winning the OPEN MEN DOUBLES (Frank Xu & Jimmy Yao) and COLLEGIATE MEN DOUBLES (Chinmai Basavaraj & Frank Xu). Arizona Christian University's team of Kate Macpherson & Ashley Rodarte won the Collegiate Women Doubles. Of special note, this was the first collegiate badminton scholarship team to compete in Arizona in more than 25 years! Congratulations to ACU!
