2013 ARIZONA CLASSIC BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

Feb 1-2, AZBC, Mesa...

After a friendly "Challenge Cup" series of games on Friday evening, Feb 1 between AZBC players and out-of-town players (AZBC won 5-2!) there was non-stop intense competition from 9am - 8pm on Saturday, Feb 2 in five events-- Open Women Doubles, Open Men Doubles, Senior Women Doubles, Senior Men Doubles and Open Mixed Doubles, which included players from CA, WY and NEV, as well as a strong contingent from Tucson. 32 women and 29 men battled it out for the various titles and enjoyed an outdoor BBQ between matches. The big winner was Yukari Katayama who won the triple crown with straight game victories in OWD, SWD and OMX. Final results below.
