ARIZONA COLLEGIATE BADMINTON LEAGUE!In the fall of 2019 the new ACBL was born! Unfortunately, COVID interrupted our progress and eliminated our first full planned season, and we are now trying to regain our momentum. The primary inspiration was the advent of BADMINTON SCHOLARSHIP opportunities started by Benedictine University Mesa and Arizona Christian University in Glendale. Arizona Christian University has continued offering badminton scholarships with their players training at the Arizona Badminton Center under AZBC Coach Anthony Phillips!
Nearly all Arizona colleges and universities offer at least a badminton club sport or intramural activity in their recreational gym facilities. However, the year-to-year turnover of students requires some administration to coordinate on-going competition. The opportunity remains to build on the initial foundation and renew efforts to develop active collegiate participation throughout Arizona involving ACU, ASU, UofA, NAU, Grand Canyon and other Junior Colleges and universities. There are a dozen or more schools that can participate in the ACBL with the right amount of administration and leadership. We need a dedicated ACBL COORDINATOR!
